UK Clash Magazine Issue 107 James Bay UK Cover Interview
UK Clash Magazine Issue 107 - Brand New Condition
Personifying this issueās recognition of those restless creatives who are not afraid to scale the dizzy heights of elevation isĀ James Bay, the second of four cover stars for Clash 107.Ā
After the phenomenal success of his 2015 debut album, āChaos And The Calmā, James returns three years later with a new sound and new look that represents the exertive and evolutionary nature of his responsive ambitions. In simultaneously shedding his shoulder-length locks and overt classic rock inclinations in favour of something more refined and contemporary, James returns with new album āElectric Lightā as a renewed and insuppressible force of energy that refuses to be constrained.
āI actually wholly accept and embrace that I and everybody in my position will be typecast to some degree,ā he tells us. āWhat that means is I have a strength that people will use to describe me as an artist. So Iāll play to that, but what I always want to do is show that there is more than that and that I have other strengths to go alongside it. And then maybe, at the very least, Iāll get typecast as a broader sound or thing.ā
Standing proudly alongside James Bay in this spring issue isĀ J Hus, Leon Bridges, Trippie Redd, Jade Bird, Tommy Cash, Tove Styrke, Alice Cooper, Bishop Nehru, and much more.
